One small token of appreciation from the Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show Committee to the wonderful supporters each year is by providing a Buyers Dinner.
This year's dinner was catered by Sadlers in Jacksonville. Entertainment for the event was provided by Rock Spraggins and friends.
As a result of the tremendous support everyone who participated, the 2008 Shop/Livestock Show raised a total of $236,520. We would like to thank everyone who
participated in the 2008 Show and Sale.
We are proud to announce the following Scholorship recipients:
Lance Low from Alto FFA received $1,000 from Cherokee County Stock Show and Exposition, Inc.
Joe Marchetti from Rusk FFA received $1,000 from Cherokee County Stock Show and Exposition, Inc.
Lance Dement from Rusk FFA received $500 from the Agri-Business Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Caitlin Morris from Alto Young Farmers received $500 from the Agri-Buciness Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Cary Spurock from Rusk FFA received $500 from the Agri-Buciness Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
River Goodwin from Wells 4-H received $500 from the Agri-Buciness Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
The individuals receiving the Agri-Business scholarships were chosen from participants of the Showmanship Classes of each Divison of the Livestock Show.

Highlights of our 2007 Livestock Show.
The Agri-Business Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce recently completed the Annual Hay Show and Sale, raising $20,600. After expenses, Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation and the Cherokee County Stock Show and Exposition Center both received a check in the amount of $3923.40 and the scholarship fund received a check in the amount of $7846.80.
